What is the FTS-Performance & Attribution team responsible for?

The Performance & Attribution team acts as the SME for Performance, Attribution, Characteristics, and ex-post Risk Statistics and is primarily responsible for maintaining systems, and data flows to facilitate timely delivery of customized automated and manual reports. The team liaises with various teams across all the global time zones, such as Portfolio/Product Managers, Client Services, Investment Commentary and Risk Management.

What is the Fixed Income Attribution Consultant responsible for?

The primary function of this position is to compile, analyze and report on fixed income portfolio performance attribution, characteristics, weights, and risk statistics. This position is a key liaison with Investment Management and Risk teams globally, as well as Client Service.

Performance and Risk Analysis:
  • Serve as a Subject Matter Expert in performance and attribution analytics
  • Review performance, fixed income attribution, and risk by analyzing the accuracy and quality of the underlying data
  • Perform data validation, exception processing, and security modeling to improve data coverage and to ensure accuracy of fixed income attribution reporting
  • Identify and resolve complex data issues impacting performance, attribution, and risk
  • Maintain, monitor, run & review standard/complicated reports & ad-hoc requests via manual/automated process adhering to set SLA date
  • Collaborate with manager to identify & resolve complex data issues impacting performance, attribution, risk & characteristics reporting
  • Perform a Business Analyst role between Performance Attribution & other relevant teams, to understand the requirements & set the process changes & report delivery accordingly
  • Review automated validation controls and complete issue resolution processes
  • Interpret and communicate fixed income attribution results using understanding of attribution models and experience with complex instruments
  • Lead the team members & train on functional, process & technical aspects
What qualifications, skills & experience would help someone to be successful?
  • Bachelors / Master’s degree preferably in Finance/Business. Professional Certifications (CIPM/CFA/FRM) would be an added advantage
  • 7+ years’ relevant work experience in Analysis & Reporting of Performance, Attributions & Risk within relevant BFSI industries, such as Mutual Funds, Asset Management, Investment Banks, Custodians & Financial Services, etc
  • Experience developing an effective portfolio and/or investment risk/performance attribution management process
  • Hands‑on experience using Investment Performance, Attribution & Risk management application/software like Fact Set, Bloomberg PORT (Previously Barclay’s POINT)
  • Ability to perform financial/mathematical calculations & analysis using MS Excel, Power BI, Alteryx, Python & relevant process automation tools
  • Advanced knowledge of financial instruments, markets & analytical understanding
  • Knowledge of Mutual Funds, Institutional Separate Accounts and Composites. Benchmarks, Hybrid/Blended Benchmarks.
  • Ability to work under pressure, perform multiple tasks in a fast‑paced, team environment, organize & prioritize workflow
  • Strong verbal & written communication skills, including strong negotiation skills
