Senior Tax Manager – National Office (JD Required)
Location: Sacramento, CA
Compensation: $145,000–$257,000 (actual compensation is influenced by skills, experience, qualifications, and geographic location).

Responsibilities- Be a trusted member of the engagement team providing federal tax compliance and consulting services to industry-specific clients
- Lead client relationships on day‑to‑day tax matters for middle‑market to multinational clients
- Consult on technical matters and special projects in corporate and flow‑through taxation, accounting methods, and ASC 740
- Research tax matters, respond to IRS and other tax authority inquiries, and recommend solutions
- Coordinate with specialty tax practices on complex state and local, high net worth, international, research and development, and incentives matters
- Manage client‑engagement staffing, billings/collections, and ensure client profitability targets are met
- Network and build relationships internally and externally to acquire new clients, projects, and revenue
- Invest in professional development through firm‑wide learning and development programs
- Support the growth of team members via the Baker Tilly Care and Teach philosophy and help associates meet professional goals

- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or law, or a similar business degree; master’s or advanced degree desirable
- CPA or JD required
- 8+ years’ experience providing federal tax compliance and consulting services in a professional services firm
- 5+ years of supervisory experience, mentoring and counseling associates
- Strong management, analytical, organizational, interpersonal, project management, and communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to lead and supervise, provide exceptional client service, maintain ethical standards, and show commitment to quality and timely project completion
- Highly developed software and Microsoft Suite skills
- Eligibility to work in the U.S. without sponsorship preferred
