Position Summary: The Career Specialist is responsible for providing services to individuals helping them to reach gainful employment. The job duties include, but not limited to the following: initial assessment, case management, career coaching and counseling, assisting clients with developing Individual Employment Plan (IEP), and exploring career pathways. Support clients with employment and community resources, and workforce readiness activities to meet their training and employment goals.

Collaboration, coordination and referrals for services with community partners and local employers. Completing Monthly Narrative Report. All duties will be performed with a strength based, customer-centered design, culturally responsive, and empowerment focused engagement approach.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Minimum of one year of case management and employment services. Experience with provide services through SETA WIOA program (preferred)
• Bilingual in another language(s)- Dari/Farsi/Russian/Ukrainian/Spanish/Other languages
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must be able to legally work in the United States.
• Must possess a valid Driver’s License.
• Have access to an automobile in good working order and minimum level auto insurance as specified by CA law.
• Have reliable transportation to and from assigned worksites.
• Have the ability to travel offsite as needed.
• Must be able to pass a DMV record check and DOJ & FBI criminal background check.

Education and Experience:

• BA degree in social work, psychology, ECE or similar field.

OR

• AA degree plus 2 years of experience in employment or social services.

OR

• High School diploma/GED equivalent plus 4 years of experience in social services and/or employment services.
