We are seeking a Project Manager – Capital Projects to lead the planning and execution of major capital and improvement initiatives across multiple CPNA manufacturing sites. This role will manage end-to-end delivery of projects ranging from multimillion‑dollar furnace and coating line upgrades to infrastructure modernization, environmental compliance, and process optimization projects.

The ideal candidate is a technically strong, execution-focused leader with proven experience delivering industrial capital projects on time, within budget, and in alignment with corporate safety, engineering, and sustainability standards.

• Project Leadership:
  Manage capital and improvement projects from concept through commissioning, ensuring delivery against scope, budget, and schedule.
• Safety & Compliance:
  Enforce adherence to Blue Scope’s safety management systems and all regulatory standards (OSHA, NFPA, EPA, etc.).
• Planning & Budgeting:
  Develop project scopes, justification documents, cost estimates, and capital approval packages.
• Execution Management:
  Oversee design, procurement, construction, installation, and start‑up activities; manage contractors and vendors to performance standards.
• Cross-functional Coordination:
  Collaborate with Operations, Engineering, Maintenance, EHS, and Finance teams to align project objectives and resources.
• Contractor Oversight:
  Lead prequalification, tendering, and management of EPC and specialty contractors.
• Technical Expertise:
  Apply practical understanding of industrial systems including furnaces, coating lines, galvanizing, process heating, and related utilities.
• Risk & Change Management:
  Identify and mitigate project risks; maintain control over scope changes and contingency use.
• Reporting & Communication:
  Provide regular project updates, forecasts, and close‑out reports to site and CPNA leadership.
• Continuous Improvement:
  Capture lessons learned and contribute to the development of project management best practices and standards across the network.

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or Industrial Engineering (or related field).
• Minimum 8–10 years of progressive experience managing capital projects ($5M–$30M+), preferably in steel, aluminum, oil & gas, cement, or process manufacturing industries.
• Proven ability to lead multi-disciplinary project teams and manage multiple concurrent projects.
• Strong understanding of combustion systems, furnaces, ovens, coating, and process equipment.
• Proficient in project management software (MS Project, Primavera, etc.) and standard PM methodologies (PMBOK, Stage‑Gate).
• PMP or equivalent certification preferred.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
• Demonstrated commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
• Strategic project planning and cost control discipline.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage complexity and ambiguity across multiple stakeholders.
• Skilled in contractor management, construction safety, and commissioning planning.
• Technical fluency in process equipment and plant infrastructure systems.
• Collaborative, hands‑on leadership style aligned with Blue Scope’s values and operational culture.

Salary Range:
This position's estimated annual base salary is $ - $. Actual base salary will be dependent on an individual’s skills, qualifications, and experience. This role is eligible for 401k Savings plan, Healthcare (medical, dental and vision), and other generous rewards.
