We are looking for a NPI Manufacturing Engineer to join Endress+Hauser Optical Analysis, the global leader in Raman spectroscopy, tunable diode laser absorption spectroscopy (TDLAS), and quenched fluorescence (QF) instrumentation for laboratory, process, and manufacturing environments. Our laser‑based analyzer systems perform high‑performance chemical composition and concentration measurement of all phases of matter in any installation environment.
What is the role about?The NPI Manufacturing Engineer is part of the Manufacturing Engineering team and reports to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager. This team is responsible for the development, improvement, and support of the manufacturing process for optical‑based gas analytical equipment. The NPI Manufacturing Engineer is specifically focused on production system design, data‑driven process optimization, and continuous improvement through activities such as:
- Process improvement and optimization to increase throughput
- Ergonomic and efficient workstation and line design
- Tooling, fixture, and automation development
- Data analysis and performance reporting
- LEAN and Six Sigma‑based process improvement
- Design ergonomic and efficient workstations and production lines to support manufacturing of optical gas analyzers.
- Develop and implement tooling, fixtures, and automation solutions to improve repeatability, safety, and throughput.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure station designs meet quality, safety, and operational requirements.
- Establish systems for collecting production data including cycle times, yield, downtime, and defect rates.
- Analyze manufacturing data using statistical tools to identify trends, root causes, and opportunities for improvement.
- Develop dashboards and reports to communicate performance metrics to stakeholders.
- Create and maintain work instructions, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and training materials for production personnel.
- Conduct hands‑on training sessions for operators and technicians on new processes, tools, and equipment.
- Evaluate training effectiveness and update materials based on feedback and process changes.
- Apply engineering principles and methodologies (LEAN, Six Sigma, Value Stream Mapping) to streamline operations.
- Lead Kaizen events and continuous improvement initiatives to reduce waste, improve quality, and increase efficiency.
- Support new product introductions by developing scalable and robust manufacturing processes.
- Provide floor support for production team members and existing production stations.
- Work with R&D, Engineering, Quality, and Production to identify the root causes of problems and implement appropriate solutions to prevent future occurrence.

What qualifications are needed?- Master's Degree in Engineering or equivalent related education with direct work experience.
- Minimum 7 years' experience in manufacturing with a demonstrated record of achievement in process improvement projects, design and fabricate tooling, procuring and validating equipment, and integrating equipment based on project needs.
- Minimum 7+ years of experience with complex electro‑mechanical systems.
- Experience in LEAN manufacturing, including Kaizen and 5S.
- Ability to design and construct tooling and fixtures.
