Metal Fabrication Shop Assistant/Grinder

Pridestaff is currently seeking a Metal Fabrication Shop Assistant/Grinder for a steel manufacturing company located in Rancho Cucamonga, CA. This is a full-time, contract to permanent position with opportunity to grow. Please see job requirements below to be considered.

Pay Rate: $19-20

Shift: Monday – Friday, 12:30pm to 9pm

Job Duties:

The Shop Assistant will assist in various duties in the hardware area such as grinding, bending sheets, rolling sheets, and loading and unloading.

Roles and responsibilities:

• Help pull hardware
• Able to read work orders
• Grinding, bending sheet and rolling sheets
• Loading and Unloading in the Glomar Department
• Perform other duties as assigned
• Bilingual (preferred)
• Mechanically inclined
• Must be flexible to perform other job duties in other departments
• Manufacturing experience preferred

Job Requirements:

• Must have at least 6 months experience in a warehouse or manufacturing environment
• Mechanically inclined – Ability to operate tools and machinery effectively including the ability to use a hand grinder.
• Flexibility – must be willing to perform various job duties across different departments.
• Must be able to lift up to 50lbs continuously.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Occasionally required to bend, kneel, crouch, reach, or crawl.
• Ability to work outside yard to load and unload when needed.
• Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job.
• Must have and wear steel toe shoes or boots or composite shoes throughout shift as well as assigned PPE (Ear plugs, safety glasses, etc.)
• Must be willing to submit to a drug test and criminal background check prior to start.
