Medication Nurse, LVN / LPN
Shifts, Time, and Days:
Friday - Monday
Pay Range: $25.00 - $28.50 per hour

Ivy Park at Alta Loma, a senior living community managed by Oakmont Management Group in Irvine, CA.

- Perform nursing duties as directed under the Nurse Practice Act, including administering medications and treatments as ordered by a physician.
- Assist with injections, suppositories, enemas, and wound‑care medications typically assigned to a Medication Technician.
- Perform nursing duties associated with the Wellness Nurse role as assigned.
- Coordinate medication services with residents, pharmacy, and physician.
- Order and track medication changes, refills, and deliveries with pharmacies.
- Prepare medication for distribution per company policy.
- Assist residents in taking prescribed medications.
- Document any instances of non‑administration, including reasons for refusal, and notify a supervisor.
- Maintain accurate, confidential resident medication records in accordance with company policy.
- Keep medication rooms and carts orderly, clean, and stocked; maintain inventory and reorder supplies as needed.
- Control medication room/cart access at all times.
- Ensure psychotropic medication use aligns with physician orders and resident needs.
- Participate in narcotic counts at the beginning and end of each shift and report discrepancies immediately.
- Communicate with physicians, family members, and vendors as needed.
- Understand medical abbreviations, symbols, and terms related to medication administration.
- Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) or Registered Nurse (RN) with a valid California nursing license in good standing.
- Prefer one year of experience assisting with medications at a Residential Care Facility for the Elderly (RCFE).
- Knowledge of assisted living and dementia care or ability to learn the theory and practice.
- Ability to work with seniors and interact patiently with cognitively impaired individuals.
- Flexibility, adaptability, and decision‑making skills in stressful situations.
- Strong information processing and common‑sense application of written or oral instructions.
- Problem‑solving abilities.
- Ability to count and perform moderately complex math problems.
- Must pass a criminal background check and health screening tests, including physical and TB tests.
- Compliance with vaccination, daily screening, and PPE requirements per regulatory guidelines.
