Payscale: $25.00 - $31.00 Plus bonus hours for all hours produced over 40 hours

Job Summary:

As an intermediate level diesel mechanic at Rapid Diesel Repair, you'll play a vital role in our mission to dominate the industry. At Rapid Diesel Repair we value initiative, problem solving and a strong work ethic.

Performance Objectives:

  • Independently diagnose and repair common diesel engine, transmission, suspension brake and after treatment system problems.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in advanced electrical diagnostics and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Assist in conducting annual DOT inspections and 90 day BIT inspections and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Assist in troubleshooting and resolving engine performance issues.
  • Demonstrate competence in utilizing diagnostic tools and software.
  • Participate in training sessions to expand technical knowledge and skills.
  • Contribute to maintaining a safe and organized shop environment.

Competencies:

  • Intermediate level understanding of diesel engine systems, including diagnostics and repairs of fuel injection systems, turbo chargers and exhaust systems.
  • Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing transmissions issues including clutch adjustments and gear synchronizations.
  • Ability to perform suspension repairs and replacements including shock absorbers and bushings.
  • Competence in brake system diagnostics, including hydraulic systems and ABS.
  • Experience with airbrake system repairs and adjustments.
  • Knowledge of aftertreatment systems maintenance and troubleshooting, including DPF (diesel particulate filter) regenerations and SCR (selective catalyst reduction) performance.
  • Intermediate electrical diagnostic skills for troubleshooting complex wiring issues and component failures.
  • Having your own set of tools is recommended but not required.
