Nurse Practitioner-Specialist-Per Diem-Hospitalists Program

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care and support to multidisciplinary health team working within the scope of practice of a Nurse Practitioner (NP). Serves as a clinical expert through patient education, interdisciplinary collaboration, and consultation, while maintaining program excellence and professional growth. Responsible for developing comprehensive care plans, coordinating patient care, delivering ongoing treatment while fostering a strong patient-provider relationship. Committed to cost‑effective care management, optimizing resource utilization, and enhancing patient experiences through continuous process improvement.

• Education:
  • Required:
    
    Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) from an accredited school of nursing
• Licensure/Certification:
  • Required:
    
    Active and unrestricted CA licensure as Registered Nurse (RN) and Nurse Practitioner (NP) Nurse Practitioner Furnishing (NPF) license number from the California Board of Registered Nursing (BRN);
    Current board certification as NP by a nationally accredited organization in a population foci;
    Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) certificate to dispense controlled substances (II‑V);
    National Provider Identifier (NPI);
    Current Basic Life Support certification (BLS) from the American Heart Association (AHA);
    Additional certifications required as outlined based on assigned department:
    Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) from AHA;

• Experience:

    Experience as a NP providing care in an acute or ambulatory setting in assigned area of specialty
