American Traveler is hiring a Telemetry RN for a night shift resource pool role requiring 2+ years of strong tele experience and successful prior travel assignments.

• Resource Pool RN position on the Telemetry unit
• Night shift, 3x12 or 4x12 hours (19:00-07:00)
• Patient ratios of 1:4-5
• Floats to all areas except L&D/Women's, ED, and Special Procedures
• Patient population includes high Medicare and geriatric patients with multiple comorbidities
• Cares for patients with DM, COPD, cardiovascular disease, hepatic disease, oncology, sepsis protocol, and alcohol withdrawal protocol
• Vascular experience preferred
• Strong MS/Tele skills required
• Required to manage cardiac drips and central lines
• Every other weekend coverage required
• May be called off or placed on call once per pay period with a 60-minute callback requirement if on call
• Uses Epic for charting
• Navy or white scrubs required

• Active CA RN license required on hand at time of consideration
• Current BLS certification required
• IV Start and Telemetry skills required
• 2+ years of strong telemetry experience required; ICU-only experience not accepted
• Successful prior travel experience required with 0-1 prior cancellations; first-time travelers not accepted unless candidate has 10+ years of experience in a teaching hospital with residents
• Experience in a teaching hospital with residents highly preferred
• Proficiency in Epic charting required
• Experience with cardiac drips required, specifying familiarity with Amiodarone, Cardizem, Dopamine, Dobutamine, and Nitro (3 of 5 required)
• ACLS, NIHSS, OCN, and PCCN certifications preferred
• Vascular and oncology experience preferred
• 1 professional reference required

• Provide telemetry-level cardiac monitoring and care, including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Administer and titrate cardiac drips as part of patient care
• Perform central line and peripheral line care/management
• Deliver respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP management, high flow nasal cannula, and ABG interpretation
• Manage isolation precautions and PPE protocols
• Flu vaccine required, with exemptions considered on a case-by-case basis
• Expected to float within skill set to other hospital units as needed
• RTO should not exceed 7 days and must be submitted with initial profile; no RTO allowed within first two weeks of assignment
• Travelers must work every other holiday, with preference for coverage on 2 of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve/Day, New Year's Eve)
• Only one contract extension allowed; time off equal to combined original and extension length required before returning as a traveler
• Former employees of the facility must have been separated for 2+ years to return as a travever
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; no local candidates accepted
• Candidates should be flexible with scheduling, as block scheduling is rarely granted
• First-time travelers are not accepted for this position
