Overview
The spray technician, under the supervision of the Director of Grounds and Golf Course Superintendent, performs chemical/fertilizer applications on golf course properties, including tees, greens, fairways, roughs, and landscape plant material. The spray technician is responsible for reading, understanding and keeping current with chemical labels and Safety Data Sheets (SDS). This position is also responsible for compiling preliminary reports of pesticide usage for the Director of Grounds and Golf Course Superintendent.
Responsibilities- Performs routine safety inspections on all spraying and fertilizing equipment.
- Maintains chemical storage and mixing areas in a neat and tidy manner.
- Cleans, tests, properly calibrates and prepares all spray and fertilizer application equipment.
- Leadership – Maintain a positive, upbeat role, promote and exemplify Company values and represent departmental objectives and interests to internal and external customers.
- Customer Service – Follow up on complaints, questions, and concerns; respond to internal/external customer needs in a friendly, timely and efficient manner.
- Teamwork – Develop and promote teamwork and cooperation among co-workers.
- Safety – Comply with established safe work practices and attend to all safety-related training provided or made available by the Company.
- Other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience- Must have completed training requirements as requested by the state and federal governments, including those required by the OSHA Hazard Communication Standard.
- Knowledge in the safe mechanical operation and calibration of the following types of equipment:
- Mechanically pressurized spray equipment
- Hand-operated spray equipment
- Hand-operated rotary spreaders
- Hand-operated drop spreaders
- Utility tractors
Skills and Abilities
- Complete knowledge of chemical application equipment.
- Proficiency in computer use, knowledge of Microsoft Office and other applications as specified by supervisor.
- Ability to follow oral and written directions.
- Possession of a valid driver's license.
- QAC or QAL preferred but not required.
- Possession of a valid driver's license.
