As a Product Development Engineer, you will design and develop medical device components, assemblies, and fixtures within the framework of a cross functional team. You will learn about clinical needs and relevant surgical procedures to interpret users’ needs to create relevant design requirements and specifications. Collaboration is a fundamental part of our organization s culture and is essential to our continued success.

As such, the successful candidate for this position is expected to work fully on-site in our Rancho Santa Margarita, CA global headquarters, enabling them to engage with colleagues and contribute to cross-functional initiatives. Therefore, the ability to work collaboratively and contribute to a positive and supportive team environment is a key requirement for this role.

• Proficiency in CAD
  • You will need to have experience with Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software, such as AutoCAD, Solid Works, or CATIA, and other relevant software tools.
• Creativity
  • You will need to have the ability to be creative. An inventive mindset is essential for you to design new products and services or improve upon those that have already been created. As a Product Development Engineer you will need to constantly innovate to continue to drive successes.
• Problem Solving
  • You will be responsible for identifying and resolving issues that arise. This will include taking action to solve the problem by generating ideas for the solution, finding out the reasons behind the problem, and implementing the solution.

• At least five years of engineering work experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Biomedical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering (or equivalent).
• Experience with CAD modeling and drafting (i.e. Solid Works).
• Experience with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
• Experience with working hands-on to create prototypes.
• Excellent organization, communication and technical writing skills.
• Understand, analyze and troubleshoot complex systems.
• Develop innovative solutions to complex problems.
• Work effectively in cross-functional teams.

• Experience in the medical device industry.
• Knowledge of surgical procedures and clinical needs.
• Understanding of manufacturing and quality standards, including FDA regulations and ISO quality systems.
• Exposure to Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) and Test Method Validation.
• Experience with software such as Net Weaver/Product Lifecycle Management.
• Experience with Minitab or other statistical analysis software.
• Experience with leading teams or projects.

• Competitive compensation range: $75,000 - $120,000 / year (California).

Please note that the compensation range may be adjusted in the future, and bonus and incentive compensation plans may apply.
