Position

Description

The Manufacturing Team Lead supports daily medical device manufacturing operations at Applied Medical by driving production efficiency, quality compliance, and effective team performance within regulated environments. This role plays a key part in monitoring labor performance, supporting production schedules, and reinforcing clear communication across manufacturing teams.

By partnering closely with manufacturing leadership and cross‑functional teams, the Manufacturing Team Lead helps ensure accurate implementation of engineering documentation, adherence to quality standards, and continuous improvement on the production floor.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor and analyze daily labor times, key performance indicators, and production metrics using web‑based applications and manufacturing tracking systems.
  • Support daily production schedules to ensure manufacturing output and quality objectives are consistently met.
  • Train and onboard new production team members by sharing process knowledge and reinforcing production and quality standards.
  • Reinforce guidance from the team leader to ensure instructions are clearly communicated and consistently understood across the production team.
  • Review engineering drawings, shop order operations, and manufacturing sequences to ensure accuracy and efficiency in production activities.
  • Perform detailed inspections of products using appropriate tools and equipment to confirm compliance with quality standards.
  • Ensure production lines are supplied with required materials, components, and manufacturing documentation at all times.
  • Communicate effectively with manufacturing, quality, and support teams while escalating safety, quality, efficiency, and team member issues to area leadership.

  • Labor tracking, performance metrics, and production data are maintained accurately and support operational decision‑making.

  • Manufacturing environments remain safe, organized, and compliant with documented quality and process requirements.
  • The production team demonstrates engagement, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Position Requirements
  • Possesses a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Reads, writes, speaks, and communicates effectively with team members while comprehending work and safety instructions.
  • Demonstrates the ability to lift up to fifty pounds on a regular basis.
  • Works effectively in clean room and laboratory manufacturing environments.
  • Performs repetitive tasks requiring strong hand and eye coordination.
  • Demonstrates proficiency in Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel for documentation and tracking purposes.
Preferred
  • Demonstrates strong critical thinking and problem‑solving skills to address challenges in the production process.
  • Possesses working knowledge of enterprise resource planning systems, particularly SAP.
