Medical Lab Technologist

Summary

Performs moderate and high complexity clinical laboratory tests in one or more of the following disciplines:
Blood Bank, Microbiology, Manual Procedures, and Automated Procedures.

• Automated, semi‑automated, or manual laboratory testing.
• Determine acceptability of specimens and reagents; follow department approved operating procedures.
• Operate equipment and instrumentation necessary for testing within established guidelines in a timely manner.
• Evaluate specimens for acceptability; document misidentified, mislabeled, and inappropriate specimens.
• Identify and solve pre‑analytical problems.

• Associate’s degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or related field.
• Minimum 3–5 years of experience performing moderate‑complexity clinical laboratory tests.
• Certification exam required within 1 year of hire.
