SUMMARY:
The Intensive Care unit at Northwest Hospital has 16 beds. Staff members in the ICU provide high-quality, compassionate, standardized, evidence-based critical care to patients and their families. ICU staff are expected to be outgoing and positive, and to utilize strong organizational and leadership skills to assess patient status, implement clinical nursing interventions to modify symptoms, and develop and implement patient care plans to enhance and improve outcomes.
JOB SUMMARY:
As a member of the patient care team, the RN provides safe, age-appropriate patient care and functions as an advisor and resource for patients and their families.
- Provide safe, age-appropriate nursing care in the ICU setting.
- Assess patient status and implement clinical nursing interventions to modify symptoms.
- Develop and implement patient care plans to enhance and improve outcomes.
- Collaborate with the care team to ensure high-quality, evidence-based care for patients and families.
- Maryland Registered Nurse License
- Basic professional knowledge; equivalent to an Associate’s degree, or an RN Diploma with relevant experience
- American Heart Association CPR Certification
- ICU experience and ACLS certification preferred
