GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The 21st Century Program Coordinator is responsible for the day-to-day management of the program including supervision of all staff. This is a thirty-four-week school year position. This position is for 16 hours per week. Monday through Thursday 1:30pm to 5:30pm.
Up to $30.00 per hour depending on experience and credentials.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES- Training of all staff and consultants.
- Supervise and evaluate staff/consultant's performance.
- Plan and conduct regular program meetings.
- Ensure that all agency policies and procedures are followed.
- Assure the highest level of program quality.
- Maintain safety standards at all times.
- Oversee all aspects of program implementation.
- Ensure that the program is in compliance with all fund or programmatic requirements.
- Coordinate all student outreach and enrollment activities with school personnel.
- Develop strong working relationships with public school principals and staff.
- Plan and implement educational goals, teaching strategies, incentive programs and activities for students.
- Supervise the learning environment including curriculum, daily scheduling of activities, special projects, and field trips.
- Establish and maintain behavioral limits and program order, based on both agency and school behavior management philosophy and policies.
- Identify youth specific concerns and work with staff, teachers, and guardian(s) to develop and meet children’s needs.
- Assure youth are receiving needed services, working in partnership with guardians, social workers, and other educational health and social service providers.
- Encourage and facilitate guardian involvement and communication with guardians regarding the needs and progress of each child.
- Organize periodic guardian/student seminars.
- Facilitate team meetings and communicate regularly with Program Administrator regarding youth’s needs and program plans.
- Develop guidelines, schedule, and coordinate celebrations and field trips.
- Develop schedule and coordinate school vacation activities including aspirational field trips.
- Manage maintenance and scheduling of vehicles to transport children.
- Oversee arrangement of staff schedules and vacations.
- Monitor and oversee food program in compliance with appropriate requirements.
- Oversee purchases and maintain inventory of supplies.
- Collect and submit pertinent data in accordance with grant guidelines.
- BA in education or related field.
- Minimum three years of experience working with youth.
- Two years’ experience supervising adults.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and facilitation skills.
- Experience working with people of different ages and backgrounds.
- Experience and skills working with Excel and Word.
- Demonstrated commitment to agency’s mission.
- Must adhere to Department of Elementary and Secondary Education grant requirements and Office of Early Education and Care program guidelines.
Grant funded position, and employment is dependent on grant funding.
