Job Duties
  • Market and grow the business.
  • Observe other stylists/managers and ask relevant questions.
  • Provide exceptional customer service and communicate effectively with management, customers, and co‑workers.
  • Control expenses.
  • Promote and sell services and retail products.
  • Answer telephones, stock shelves, sweep hair, and perform other duties as assigned by manager.
Qualifications
  • Graduate from an accredited cosmetology school and obtain a license within 90 days of hire‑date.
  • Work in a dynamic salon environment.
  • Good time‑management skills, good judgment, and ability to multitask.
  • Well‑developed interpersonal skills to communicate professionally with customers, co‑workers, and management.
  • Computer knowledge including point‑of‑sale systems and data entry.
  • Work a flexible schedule including nights and weekends.
Physical Requirements and Work Environment
  • Frequent lifting up to 10 lb, occasional lifting 10–25 lb.
  • Continuous standing.
  • Reaching at shoulder level or above.
  • Pushing and pulling to move styling chairs.
  • Exposure to chemicals and fragrances used in hair services.
  • Occasional ladder/step‑stool use for stocking shelves.
  • Basic reading, writing and math skills.
  • Occasional travel for meetings and training.
Compliance / Administrative Tasks
  • Answer telephones, stock shelves, sweep hair, and other duties assigned by manager.
  • Communicate effectively with management, customers and co‑workers.
  • Maintain safety standards and identify hazards.
  • Attend staff meetings, training sessions and mandatory meetings.
  • Adhere to corporate policies and procedures.
  • Handle POS transactions, including opening and closing the register.
