Coordinator of HVACR & Technical Career Programs / HVACR Instructor

The HVACR Program Coordinator/HVACR Instructor coordinates the scheduling and usage of the laboratory facilities related to HVACR and co-located technical career programs. The coordinator ensures the maintenance of all equipment and responds to department requests for information on lab materials and equipment for the purpose of replacement and/or upgrading. The laboratory support of instruction is of primary importance and the coordinator achieves this through personal effort and the effective supervision of other instructors and student aides.

In addition, this position has responsibility for developing and delivering HVACR technology programs, including apprenticeships, through the Center for Workforce Development. The coordinator will assist in student and employer partner recruitment through facility tours, information sessions, and other outreach efforts. The individual coordinates with other areas of the CCM community to ensure a positive student experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop curriculum to support HVACR training programs including apprenticeships, boot camps and other program constructs using self‑paced, online, and traditional delivery models. Align curriculum with credit programs and industry credentials. Provide instruction for all non‑credit programming. Supervise hiring additional instructors as needed. Maintain and achieve revenue targets while meeting the needs of regional employers.
  • Coordinate with WFD staff and employers to develop industry‑relevant programs, apprenticeship placement opportunities and unsubsidized employment for program completers. Supervise student aides and interns; allocate human resources as necessary to support non‑credit instruction; oversee the maintenance of all facilities and purchasing of materials and equipment; provide resource planning support as requested.
  • Coordinate with WFD staff, community nonprofits, and area businesses to establish an Industrial Assessment Center which will focus on providing HVAC‑related technical assistance to small‑to‑midsize manufacturers and other businesses.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 1 year teaching experience and New Jersey HVACR contractor license preferred.
  • Academically, a Bachelor’s degree is required (significant work experience/industry credentials may substitute for the degree requirement).
  • EPA Section 608 Technician Certification is required.
