Position: Director, Center for Workforce Development

Director, Center for Workforce Development at County College of Morris

This position reports to the Associate Vice President, Academic Affairs and Workforce Development and is responsible for leading the Center’s team in achieving its strategic mission to support individuals in their desire to get a job, get a better job, or improve current job performance. The Center also supports the workforce needs of area businesses, non‑profit organizations, and government agencies through the development and delivery of customized training programs.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the Center’s team in achieving its strategic mission to support individuals in their desire to get a job, get a better job, or improve current job performance.
  • Develop positive relationships and partnerships with local businesses, non‑profit organizations, and government agencies to address workforce needs.
  • Ensure a positive student experience through personal efforts and supervision of staff on campus and satellite locations.
  • Manage the development, implementation, and evaluation of noncredit courses and programs to meet the employment needs of individuals and businesses.
  • Ensure the department is a self‑supporting area of the college by meeting established revenue targets.
Qualifications
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate complex ideas to a broad audience.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and related programs; excellent computer skills.
  • Good phone and customer service skills, attention to detail, self‑motivated, ability to work under pressure.
  • Experience with confidential information, sensitivity, and handling.
  • Familiarity with external funding sources such as state and federal grants.
  • 5+ years of management and/or implementation of education and training programs with a proven track record of fiscal and personnel management and project accomplishment.
  • Bachelor’s degree required;
    Master’s degree preferred.
