Summary:
The Manufacturing Supervisor is responsible for supervising operations to ensure production is safe, efficient, and timely. This role involves managing production schedules, posting daily work assignments, and providing hands-on product/process support on the shop floor. The position drives product/process safety, quality, delivery, and morale, and is accountable for continuous improvement of the assigned department as well as training and development of direct reports.
- Supervise operations to ensure safe, efficient, and timely production in accordance with company policy and applicable regulations.
- Communicate, train, guide, and coach employees to achieve operational initiatives and optimize team performance in manufacturing high-quality products.
- Evaluate interpersonal skills, provide feedback, and recommend methods to improve communications.
- Schedule and assign personnel according to manufacturing demand.
- Assess equipment capacity and material supply; adjust staffing to optimize output.
- Match employee abilities to job requirements on the manufacturing floor.
- Monitor and track output, processes, labor efficiencies, operating expenses, and quality indicators for assigned cost centers.
- Measure performance and quality; drive positive results in operational KPIs.
- Collaborate with Maintenance, Engineering, Finance, Planning, and Quality to meet production schedules.
- Hold regular meetings with Management to review results and prioritize improvements.
- Perform other related tasks as assigned.
- 1-3 years’ related work experience
- Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Act and Labour Laws
- Conflict resolution and time management skills
- Strong communication, presentation, organizational, problem-solving, teamwork, interpersonal, and leadership skills
- Proficient computer skills and effective use of technology, instruments, tools, and information systems
- Ability to work as part of a team and provide guidance and direction
- Ability to set direction, make decisions, and oversee line operations with little supervision
- Solid proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Availability to support/operate on off shifts as required
- Ability to deliver business results independently and through others
