Materials Manager

Job Summary:

The Materials Manageris  responsible for managing inventory, implementing, holding the organization accountabletoandvalidatingpurchasing procedures of raw materials and other supplies.

The Materials managers collaborate with master schedulers todeterminesupply needs and finance members tovalidateperformance.

• This position has supervisory responsibilities.

• Establish Material Management Processes including receiving, warehousing, shop floor, shipping, order close out. Ensure consistent application of the procedures amongst all Charles US and Mexico manufacturing centers.
• Lead portions of ERP conversion project pertaining to materials management and shop floor activities
• Supervise, evaluate,and coach warehouse supervisors in each manufacturing facility.
• Lead the annual physical inventory / cycle count program.
• Continuing programs of exploration for new materials, suppliers, and processes to achieve the best possible quality, reliability, prices, continuity, and delivery.
• Maintain optimum inventory levels to ensure on-time deliveries to meetcustomerrequirements.
• Interface with master schedulers on the planning and forecasting of customer orders to meet shipments.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Excellent organizational skills and have a deep understanding of forecasting and budgeting.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Ability to travel at least 25% - 50%.

• Bachelor'sdegree in business or supply chain isrequiredwith three years' experience in a supervisory role.
• An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
• Ability to manage team members across different facilities.
• Experience in lean manufacturing.
• Experience moving materials across the US/Mexico border.
• Knowledgeable of forecasting and budgeting.
• Familiarity with modern ERP systems. Experience with Infor a plus.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).

• Employees must be able to lift and/or move up to 35 pounds. Charles Industries weight rule: 35 lbs. and under can be lifted alone. 35 - 50 lbs. can be lifted by one person if they feel comfortable doing so. 50 lbs. or more requires the employee to get assistance or use a lifting device. (i.e. pallet jack, forklift, scissor table, buddy system).
• Vision abilities required are close, peripheral and depth. Must have the ability to recognize color.

• Employees regularly work near moving, vibrating, mechanical equipment, occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles. Exposed to minimal risk of electrical shock. The noise level is moderate.
