- Maintain cleanliness preparing food service areas and ensuring high standards of safety and customer service while working collaboratively with integrated teams.
- Prepares dining areas for meals and sets up serving lines. Distributes and serves meals and beverages.
- Assists with performing daily, weekly and monthly deep cleaning of the kitchen and service areas as assigned. Cleans and sterilizes dishes, kitchen utensils, and equipment. Disposes of trash and packaging containers. Cleans spills immediately and follows all sanitation guidelines.
- Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of high school.
- Requires an understanding of food safety and sanitation guidelines.
- Prefers one year experience in food preparation and cooking in a commercial kitchen.
- Requires the ability to pass a DoD background investigation.
- Requires Food Handlers Certification within two months of hire.
- Required to work a flex schedule including weekends and evenings when necessary to meet agency needs.
- This position is considered medium work as defined by the U.S. Department of Labor (20 CFR 404.1567(c)). Medium work involves lifting no more than 50 pounds at a time with frequent lifting or carrying of objects weighing up to 25 pounds.
