Job Summary:
The Shipping Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and executing all outbound shipment activities through the company system to ensure accurate, efficient, and timely delivery of customer orders.
Supervisory Responsibilities:None.
Duties/Responsibilities:- Prepare shipping documentation and process orders.
- Coordinate the preparation and organization of bills of lading, packing slips, invoices, and required export licenses or compliance documents.
- Utilize ERP or other systems to record and track all shipping transactions.
- Troubleshoot shipping delays or changes with carriers and communicate to customers.
- Ensure shipping protocols and documentation meet regulatory requirements for hazardous materials (DOT/HAZMAT) or special handling.
- Investigate and resolve shipping non-conformance.
- Operate the forklift truck/picker or use the hand truck to pick and transport parts and shipments.
- Maintain all warehouse equipment and shipping systems (Fed Ex, UPS, GP, WMS) in proper working order and perform routine maintenance as required.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- Ability to apply concepts of algebra.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents.
- Define problems and troubleshoot situations using strong conceptual thinking abilities.
- Ability to use precision measuring equipment and mechanical equipment and tools.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- High school diploma or GED.
- At least 3 years of related experience.
- DOT Hazmat Transportation training required.
- Knowledge and experience of Microsoft Office Systems.
- Working knowledge of MRP or similar software programs.
- Ability to operate Fed Ex, UPS, and LTL online portals.
- Experience with the use of forklift trucks and/or pickers. Forklift certification is preferred.

- The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 35 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 35-50 pounds. Charles Industries weight rule: 35 lbs. and under can be lifted alone. 35 - 50 lbs. can be lifted by one person if they feel comfortable doing so. 50 lbs. or more requires the employee to get assistance or use a lifting device (e.g., pallet jack, forklift, scissor table, buddy system).

- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles. Noise level is usually moderate to loud.
