Headache Medicine

Monument Health Neuroscience Center in Rapid City is looking for a full-time Neurologist with fellowship training in Headache Medicine.

We are looking for a Headache Medicine specialist to join a well-established outpatient group practice and to establish a Headache Medicine program. Full-time work in headache medicine is available, but this can also be a blended headache medicine/general neurology position if the candidate prefers. This is a fulfilling hospital-employed position in a collegial group environment, with an emphasis on work-life balance.

Inpatient neurology needs are provided by a fully-staffed 24 hr neurohospitalist service.

With over 4,500 physicians and caregivers, Monument Health is comprised of 5 hospitals, 8 specialty and surgical centers and more than 40 medical clinics and health care service centers in western South Dakota.

The Neuroscience Center is located at the main MH Rapid City campus, a busy tertiary care center that serves a 5-state region. It includes a 12-bed regional sleep center, 24/7/365 neurohospitalist and neurointerventionalist services, and comprehensive outpatient neurology services, including partners trained in neurovascular/stroke, movement disorders, epilepsy, and neuroimmunology. We have a first-class hospital-based infusion center, with plans to create an in-department neurology infusion center for those subspecialists who require these services.

We are currently certified as a Primary Stroke Center with thrombectomy capability, and we are aiming at Comprehensive Stroke Center status and Level III epilepsy center status by 2027, with an EMU scheduled to begin operation later this year.

Qualification:

BE/BC, with fellowship training in Headache Medicine. Neurology residency training preferred, but will consider fellowship-trained specialists with other training backgrounds.
