Job Summary

The Match Support Specialist – Campus Kids (CK) Coordinator is a dual‑role position essential to BBBSBH’s success. This role combines two key responsibilities:

  • Essential to BBBSBH's success, the primary functions of a Match Support Specialist position is to provide match support, prioritize child safety, ensure positive impacts for youth, and build and develop constructive and satisfying relationships between children and youth and volunteers. The successful incumbent will produce positive outcomes in the following areas: match support completion rate, successful match closure, average match length, documentation, quality assurance, match story submission, and survey completion rate.
  • The Campus Kids Coordinator plays a vital role in fostering strong, safe, and lasting mentoring relationships between college student Bigs and Littles. This position is responsible for providing high-quality match support, ensuring compliance with national standards, and promoting positive youth outcomes. The specialist works closely with campus partners, families, and volunteers to facilitate Campus Kids activities during the academic school year, monitor progress, and address challenges.

Functions

Match Support & Relationship Management

  • Provide consistent match support per our Programs Standards, focusing on child safety, match development, positive youth outcomes, and volunteer satisfaction.
  • Continually assess match relationships to identify and address potential issues early.
  • Develop strategic interventions to strengthen match relationships and ensure a positive experience for all parties.
  • Conduct exit interviews at match closure to assess reasons and re‑match potential; submit any re enrollments to the Enrollment & Engagement Director.
  • Work collaboratively with the Enrollment & Engagement Director to identify potential matches.
  • Conduct match meetings to facilitate introductions, review expectations, and establish the foundation for a successful mentoring relationship.

Training & Coaching

  • Deliver individualized training and coaching to mentors, mentees, and families to support positive youth development.
  • Collaborate on new training opportunities for Campus Kids (CK) leaders and address recurring topics during semester sessions.
  • Provide ongoing coaching and feedback to CK leaders, including opportunities to share observations and concerns.
  • Plan and schedule semester CK activities with CK officers and leaders.
  • Manage recruitment, onboarding, and paperwork for new and returning CK volunteers.
  • Maintain contact with past CK leaders to determine volunteer continuity.
  • Ensure safety training and documentation for CK leaders and parents/guardians.

Data & Documentation

  • Maintain accurate and timely records for all matches and CK activities using Match force and other provided technology.
  • Document all notes, contact attempts, and activities related to CK leaders, ready to be matched and matched Littles, and families.
