Position Overview

Children’s Home Society of South Dakota is seeking an Outpatient Therapist to provide high-quality mental health care to children and families who have experienced trauma within the Outpatient Therapy program in accordance with the organization’s Mission, Vision, and Values.   • Clinical Supervision: Clinical Supervision for licensure is included as part of the role as long as they are supervised by our internal Clinical Director.

What You'll Do

Your responsibilities as a Full-time Therapist would include:

  • Complete assessments, screening, and other documentation during the evaluation phase of treatment for each client.
  • Support a typical caseload of 25 billable hours per week, or 100 per month, depending on Full or Part-Time status.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans, prepare treatment plan reviews, and discharge summaries with treatment team. Consult with other service providers as needed.
  • Provide therapy to meet client needs.
  • Benchmarks for billable hours are communicated early, clearly, and are designed to promote quality care while allowing flexibility and work/life balance.
  • Collaborate with the treatment team to ensure client’s needs are met appropriately.
  • Maintain positive working relationship with community resources and referral agencies.
  • Complete required reports and other documentation.
  • Assist in the development and facilitation of caregiver training as needed.
  • Actively participate in required trainings. Maintain licensure requirements.
  • Assist in the development and facilitation of an annual training curriculum for caregivers.
  • Assist with development of program forms, as necessary.
  • Provide public education presentations, as necessary.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with community agencies, schools, and universities as applicable.
  • Compile monthly, quarterly and annual statistics and other data as requested.
  • Provide on-call support, as necessary.
