Registered Nurse - Emergency Room
Job SummaryProvides emergency nursing care to patients of all ages presenting with a wide range of acute illnesses and injuries. Performs rapid triage and assessment, initiates treatment protocols and delivers care during resuscitation and other life-threatening emergencies. Prepares patients for admission, transfer or discharge.
Education & Experience- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing:
Required - Emergency Department or acute care nursing experience:
Required
- Registered Nurse licensure in the state of practice:
Required - Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification:
Required
- Perform triage assessment and assign acuity for arriving patients.
- Complete focused and ongoing assessments across all age groups.
- Initiate emergency treatment protocols, including medication and IV therapy administration.
- Participate in resuscitation events, including cardiac arrest, stroke, sepsis and trauma activations.
- Interpret cardiac rhythms and monitor for deterioration, escalating promptly.
- Complete accurate documentation and provide discharge or transfer instructions.
