American Traveler is seeking an RN Case Manager for an acute care hospital position requiring prior discharge planning and case management experience plus a SD or compact RN license.

• Case Management department within a Level II Trauma Center, Level III NICU, and Magnet-designated teaching hospital
• Provides care for patients across all acute care departments, typically remaining in the same area throughout the contract
• Caseload of 1 case manager to 16-20 patients
• 8-hour day shifts, , 40 hours per week
• No on-call responsibilities
• Weekend rotation of 2 weekends per 13-week assignment
• Uses EPIC charting system (required)

• Active RN license (SD or compact) in hand
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 1.5 years of general nursing experience
• Previous discharge planning and acute care case management experience required
• Experience with progression of care and discussing care plans with families

• Supported by Case Management Assistants, Lead Case Managers, Social Workers, Utilization Review RNs, and Hospitalists
• 1.5 weeks of facility and unit orientation including an EPIC class
• Holiday coverage required for 2 of 4 major holidays
• Time off requests approved up to 7 days, with full-week extensions required; no RTO during the Sturgis Bike Rally (first 2-3 weeks of August)
• Scrub color:
  Navy Blue or professional attire
• Free parking provided
• First-time travelers considered if they have more than 2 years of experience
• Travelers must live more than 100 miles from any Monument Health facility
• Permanent staff must wait one full year before returning as a traveler
• Highly traveler-friendly facility known for renewing traveler contracts
