Role OverviewThis role is the primary service and maintenance contact for Trane Technologies customers in a defined market with a diverse commercial base including Healthcare, Process Manufacturing Facilities, Education Institutions, and Office Complexes. You will commission, troubleshoot, repair, and start up HVAC systems in commercial environments. You will work with internal and external partners ranging from new facility set ups to existing facility retro fits.

Customer Facing Sales & Service work in the greater Rapid City, SD area. Prioritize engaging with customers.
What you will do:- Responsible for end-to-end testing, downloading programming, starting up, commissioning, and servicing assigned projects.
- Serve as the direct customer contact, ensuring satisfaction by examining, diagnosing, and repairing equipment and systems on site.
- Coordinate with team leader/project manager and customer to understand requirements, forecast issues, gather materials, and synchronize on-site work.
- Use cutting‑edge software and technology, along with a variety of hand‑tools, following blueprints or engineering specifications, to diagnose and repair units.
- Enforce safety standards and maintain security of company assets.
- Mentor team members and maintain flexibility to work overtime and weekends as required, including occasional overnight stays.
- A high school diploma or equivalent, or a certificate of completion from an accredited technical school is required.
- Typically requires at least 10 plus years of HVAC experience; technical school or formal training preferred.
- Operating knowledge of Microsoft Office and handheld computers (smartphone, iPad).
- Valid driver’s license for a minimum of 12 months with no major violations in the last 3 years.
- Must safely and legally operate a vehicle using a seat belt.
- Must wear helmets, safety goggles, fall protection harness, and safety boots.
- Must twist the torso 90 degrees in each direction.
- Must squat and touch the floor with both hands.
- Must reach hands over head.
- Must stand on concrete surfaces up to 4 hours.
- Must regularly lift or move up to 10 lbs; frequently lift or move up to 40 lbs; occasionally lift or move more than 40 lbs.
- Must safely use a ladder (375 lb total weight limit) while carrying equipment ≤50 lbs.
- Must maneuver confined access areas as small as 30” vertical × 45” horizontal.
- Must access rooftops with extension/fixed ladders at heights 15‑20 ft, occasionally up to 50 ft +.
- May be exposed to variable weather, mechanical parts, heights, electrical shock, noise, and other variable environmental conditions.
- This role is Safety Sensitive.
Base Pay Range: $25/hr – $46/hr disclaimer:
