Job DescriptionThe victim specialist role is crucial to keeping the FBI running smoothly. You’ll be responsible for providing immediate assistance and support to victims, integrating trauma-informed care into every interaction. Your expertise extends to a wide range of support services, such as performing crisis intervention, undertaking comprehensive case management, and facilitating access to legal assistance. This role demands a deep understanding of social services and the ability to work closely with other agencies to ensure that victims receive the care and support they need.

Salary LevelPay level for this position:
- GS 11–12: $63,163.00–$
Salary shown is the base salary for the grade levels. Salary is also commensurate with professional experience.
Major Duties- Respond to crime scenes to assess, triage, and provide direct, in-person, crisis intervention services.
- Refer victims for assistance with counseling, employment, housing, immigration, and medical and legal services.
- Maintain relationships with local, state, and federal agencies to ensure adequate resources.
- Identify, develop, and maintain emergency and follow-up resources within the community, state, and/or federal arena.
- Communicate effectively both orally and in writing to create presentations and prepare clear, comprehensive, and concise documents and reports.
- Coordinate forensic interviews and sexual assault examinations.
- Serve as an advocate for victims of crime by offering emotional support and maintaining the highest levels of confidentiality.
- Treat all individuals with patience, sensitivity, respect, and dignity.
GS-11: Applicant must possess at least one year of specialized experience (SE) equivalent to the GS-9 grade level. SE is defined as follows:
- Work within a law enforcement or victim service agency to assess, triage, and provide crisis intervention and assistance to victims at the time they suffered direct or threatened physical, emotional, psychological, or pecuniary harm as a result of a violent crime.
