Overview

The National Association of State Departments of Agriculture (NASDA) of Arlington, VA is looking to hire a detail-oriented part-time Field Enumerator to perform tasks that support our organization. The field enumerator position earns a competitive wage of $17.84/hour

• Interviews with farmers, ranchers, and other agricultural businesses, in person or by telephone
• Travel to designated fields to perform crop counts as needed
• Maintain and deliver detailed, legible records of interviews, crop counts, mileage, expenditures, and hours worked
• Represent NASDA in survey actions and communicate the benefits of enumerators
• Travel as required for training or fieldwork

• Experience multitasking in an energetic, deadline-oriented work environment
• Ability to positively represent NASDA and the benefits of enumerators in survey actions
• Ability to perform crop counts in designated fields
• Ability to maintain a reliable personal vehicle
• Ability to conduct interviews in person or by telephone with farm operators and other individuals
• Knowledge about computers or iPads
• Ability to lift/carry up to 40 lbs
• Ability to walk unassisted on uneven ground up to 100 yards
• Able to travel up to 250 miles on a quarterly basis for training

This part-time field service position offers a flexible schedule that may include some evenings, weekends, and holidays. Weather, seasonal farm responsibilities, and community functions may affect work hours.
