Responsible for a comprehensive program design, implementation, and supervision of athletes/clients of various ages and skill levels, specific to organizing, administering, and leading a year‑round high school program (after school 3‑6 pm). Additional responsibilities include organizing and administering camps, and team and academy training such as Sanford Sports Performance Hockey, semi‑professional teams, and club athletes. Care and programming of athletes with complex medical needs, building relationships with high school principals, athletic directors, coaches, athletes, and parents, and creating training schedules for school facilities within school guidelines.

Assists in the promotion of Sanford Sports Performance services and development of new programming.

Provide instruction and demonstration of correct Olympic lifting technique, along with strength, speed, agility, and plyometric exercises applied in a periodized framework. Demonstrate appropriate dynamic warm‑up, mobility, and stability exercises based on individualized athlete needs. Thorough understanding of the physiological basis of exercise and the ability to program and instruct according to NSCA, ACSM, and USAW guidelines.

Administer and interpret SCORE testing assessment for pre/post evaluation of athletic readiness. Complete SCORE testing reports and deliver results to athletes/parents. Incorporate sport timing systems for large group and team SCORE testing. Collaborate with Sanford Physical Therapy staff to incorporate SCORE pro biomechanical assessment results into individualized performance programming.

Administer and interpret results for submaximal cardiovascular and fitness assessments. Collaborate with Sanford departments (Sport Science Institute, Physical Therapy, Athletic Training, Orthopedics, and Sports Medicine Physician groups) to gather accurate testing data for research. Assist with data collection and computer entry. Maintain accessible records of written and electronic performance programming. Ensure safety, maintenance, and cleanliness of the weight room, equipment, and overall facility.

Must possess strong communication and interpersonal skills, teamwork orientation, and an eagerness to grow and face challenges in individual, small group, and team settings.

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in exercise science, kinesiology, health, physical education, recreation, or a closely related discipline (required);
  Master’s degree preferred.
• Minimum of three to five years’ experience in the field.
• Thorough understanding of human physiology with the ability to test, design, prescribeאנ Example, sport‑specific programs.
• Basic computer skills required.
• Certification as Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) or Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association (CSCCa) at the time of hire; USA Weightlifting certification preferred.
• CPR/AED or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within six weeks of employment.
