Raritan Valley Community College's Humanities, Social Science, Social Work & Education department is seeking qualified adjunct faculty members for the Spring 2027 semester who are committed to providing the best quality education possible to our students. Specifically, the college is seeking candidates interested in being adjunct faculty with expertise in:

The purpose of the Introduction to Sociology courseis to provide a systematic investigation of the basic concepts and principles of sociology with emphasis on culture, social relationships, groups, institutions, social structure and the fundamental sociology theories.

RVCC offers courses during the day as well as the evening on our campus in Branchburg, New Jersey. Remote courses may also be assigned depending on department need.

• Teach all courses assigned, submit course documents, including syllabi and final grades, as required.
• Provide feedback to students and record grades in a timely manner using the Learning Management System and its gradebook.
• Submit attendance verification and progress reports, as directed.
• Comply with all college policies and requirements.

Minimum Qualifications:

Master's degree in Sociology from an accredited institution.

Prior experience teaching in discipline.

Experience using technology including Microsoft Office Suite, video conferencing tools, as well as ability and willingness to train in Canvas (LMS).

Preferred Qualifications:

Ph.D. in Sociology.

2-years of college teaching experience.
