Job Description- Responsible for the daily execution of antibody production protocols and procedures related to animal use, including immunizations, phlebotomy, plasmapheresis, antibody harvest, and processing.
- Operate and maintain equipment such as centrifuges, microscopes, autoclaves, CO2 incubators, and other relevant tools used in the production of polyclonal/monoclonal antibodies.
- Apply and adhere to cGMP, USDA, and FDA regulations, ensuring proper documentation.
- Document all work performed in accordance with SOPs, BRTs, FRMs, and other relevant policies, maintaining proper filing as per document retention standards.
- Perform general housekeeping, equipment cleaning, animal care, and health interventions.
- Review quality documents during in-process checks, witness formulations, perform calculations, and ensure all paperwork is completed accurately.
- Support daily antibody production activities including animal husbandry, rack changes, observations, enrichment, feeding, watering, and disinfection of rooms and equipment.
- Provide expert veterinary technical care, proficient use of laboratory equipment, and participate in site inspections as needed.
- Handle and restrain relevant species, perform phlebotomy, IV catheterization, and administer drugs via all appropriate routes (IV, IP, IC, SQ, IM).
- Manage data transcription, collection, record keeping, and utilize Microsoft Office tools proficiently.
The Veterinarian Lab Technician should have at least 5 years of experience or 10 years of small animal veterinary technical/surgical skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Animal Science or Biology combined with 5 years of veterinary technical experience.
- Or 10 years of relevant experience in small animal veterinary technical and surgical skills.
Veterinarian Lab Technician duties include:
- Executing antibody production protocols related to animal use, including immunizations, phlebotomy, plasmapheresis, antibody harvest, and processing.
- Using and maintaining laboratory equipment such as centrifuges, microscopes, autoclaves, and CO2 incubators.
- Applying and documenting compliance with cGMP, USDA, and FDA regulations.
- Documenting all work in accordance with SOPs, BRTs, FRMs, and maintaining proper records.
- Performing general housekeeping, equipment cleaning, and animal care activities.
