Ordinary Labourer

Responsibilities

• Assist in the loading and unloading of materials to ensure smooth operations on site
• Follow safety protocols diligently to maintain a secure work environment for all team members
• Perform basic maintenance tasks on tools and equipment to keep them in optimal working condition
• Execute site preparation tasks including digging, lifting and moving heavy materials as directed
• Support skilled tradespeople by providing necessary tools and materials during construction or maintenance tasks
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work site to enhance efficiency and safety
• Conduct quality checks on materials and products to ensure adherence to specifications
• Report any safety hazards or equipment malfunctions to supervisors immediately
• Assist in the setup and breakdown of temporary structures, scaffolding or other work‑related installations
• Collaborate effectively with team members to achieve daily project goals and deadlines

• High school diploma or equivalent education is preferred to ensure basic literacy and numeracy skills
• Prior experience in construction or manual labor roles is advantageous for understanding site dynamics
• Basic safety and health certification is essential to comply with workplace regulations
• Physical fitness and stamina are crucial as the role involves lifting, bending, and standing for long periods
• Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions to execute tasks efficiently
• Familiarity with common construction tools and equipment enhances productivity and safety
• Demonstrated teamwork skills to effectively collaborate with diverse groups on site
