Ready to lead site operations and deliver exceptional construction projects? We’re looking for a Site Manager who thrives in fast‑paced environments and takes ownership of project execution with a strong focus on safety, quality, programme delivery, and team leadership.
About Your TeamThis role sits within the Operations Department and reports directly to the Project Manager. The team is responsible for delivering construction activities from mobilisation through to project completion, ensuring programme, quality, safety, and commercial objectives are achieved while maintaining the highest standards of execution.
Your RoleAs a Site Manager, you will:
- Lead day‑to‑day site operations across all construction activities.
- Manage and motivate multidisciplinary site teams to achieve project milestones.
- Coordinate labour, materials, equipment, and subcontractors to maximise productivity.
- Ensure compliance with ALEC’s HSE policies and promote a strong safety culture on site.
- Oversee quality assurance and quality control processes, ensuring timely close‑out of issues.
- Collaborate with commercial teams to monitor costs, variations, claims, and progress valuations.
- Interpret drawings, specifications, and contract documents to ensure technical compliance.
- Liaise with consultants, clients, subcontractors, and local authorities to resolve project challenges.
- Manage testing, validation, and inspection activities to support successful project delivery.
- Support project mobilisation, planning, site setup, and programme implementation.
- Monitor site performance, identify risks, and provide regular progress updates to senior management.
This role is full time and follows a Monday to Saturday work week, typical for project‑based positions in our industry.
What We’re Looking For Experience7+ years of experience managing construction site operations, ideally on large‑scale building projects.
Knowledge- Strong understanding of construction methodologies, technical drawings, specifications, and contract documentation.
- Experience in site planning, resource allocation, and productivity management.
- Sound knowledge of HSE systems, quality control, and compliance requirements.
- Commercial awareness with experience in cost control, variation management, and project reporting.
- Strong leadership and people management capabilities.
- Excellent planning, organisational, and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders in a dynamic site environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Familiarity with local authority regulations and approval processes.
- Knowledge of contract administration, procurement, and tendering procedures.
- Experience driving continuous improvement initiatives across site teams.
- Experience in Fitout and Finishing.
- Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
