Librarian in Ras-al-Khaimah, UAE — job duties, education and experience requirements. Salary: 1600 AED per month. Open to immigrants.
Responsibilities- Creating a welcoming atmosphere in the library
- Developing and maintaining a collection of books
- Organizing and cataloguing books, periodicals, audio-visual materials and other electronic resources
- Creating online databases
- Helping patrons find information resources
- Organizing book readings, lectures, workshops and other events
- Updating library records
- Managing circulation desk activities including issuing library cards, registering new memberships, tracking fines and loan periods
- Ensuring that materials are properly shelved or stored in the appropriate area
- Bachelor’s degree in Library Science or a related field, with at least one year of prior experience working in a library setting
- Knowledge of modern computer applications and online databases
- Excellent communication skills; ability to work independently as well as part of a team
