Job SummaryThe Department of Biotechnology in the School of Arts and Sciences at the American University of Ras Al Khaimah (AURAK) seeks to hire a full-time faculty member for Assistant Professor rank starting Fall 2026 (beginning of August 26). Candidates for this position must hold a Ph.D. degree in Clinical Nutrition and Dietetics, or other related discipline. Prior successful teaching experience at the university level employing high-impact educational practices to promote active learning by students and experience in working effectively with globally diverse student populations are expected.
PrimaryResponsibilities Include
- Teaching undergraduate courses related to Clinical Nutrition and Dietetics
- Holding office hours; one hour per course per week.
- Completing mandatory quality assurance requirements at the end of each semester for the delivered course such as Course DASPA, Program DASPA, Course Files and Syllabi.
- Participating in Department, School of Arts and Sciences, and University meetings, if possible.
- A doctoral degree in Clinical Nutrition and Dietetics, or any other related discipline, from an accredited institution of higher education.
- Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) designation accredited by a recognized body or equivalent DHA qualification.
- Effective oral and written English communication skills.
- Commitment to excellence in teaching, including the use of high-impact educational practices at the university level.
- Experience in working effectively with a diverse student population.
- Ability to work collaboratively with faculty from a variety of disciplines.
