The Psychology Program Lead will oversee the academic and operational management of the Psychology program at Bath Spa University RAK Campus. This full‑time, on‑site role in Ras Al Khaimah includes designing and updating curricula, coordinating course delivery, and ensuring alignment with university standards and accreditation requirements. The Program Lead will teach undergraduate or postgraduate psychology courses, supervise student projects, and provide academic advising and mentorship.
Day‑to‑day responsibilities include managing faculty teaching assignments, supporting quality assurance processes, monitoring student outcomes, and contributing to assessment, moderation, and program evaluation. The role also involves collaborating with university leadership, engaging in professional development, and supporting outreach activities that promote the Psychology program within the campus and wider community.
- Strong foundation in Psychology, with advanced knowledge across core subfields and contemporary psychological theories and practices.
- Expertise in Psychological Testing, including design, administration, interpretation, and ethical application in educational or clinical contexts.
- Excellent Communication skills, with the ability to teach complex concepts clearly, collaborate with colleagues, and support diverse student populations.
- Understanding of Mental Health principles, including awareness of well‑being, support needs, and appropriate referral practices in an academic environment.
- Education‑related competencies, such as curriculum development, pedagogical planning, student assessment, and experience in higher education teaching.
- Relevant postgraduate qualification in Psychology (Master’s or Doctorate) from a recognized institution; eligibility for professional registration or membership is an advantage.
- Demonstrated experience in leading academic programs or managing courses, preferably within a university or higher education setting.
- Commitment to inclusive, student‑centered teaching, use of evidence‑based educational practices, and continuous program improvement.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multicultural environment and contribute to institutional initiatives, research, and community engagement.
- Visa sponsorship and relocation support provided for international candidates
- PhD in Psychology from a recognized institution
- UAE Ministry of Education (MOE) degree equivalency certificate.
- Minimum 5 years of experience leading academic programs or managing courses, preferably in a university setting
- Strong knowledge across core psychology subfields and contemporary theories/practices
- Experience with curriculum development, pedagogical planning, and student assessment
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to teach complex concepts and support diverse student populations
- Understanding of mental health principles, well‑being awareness, and appropriate referral practices
- Eligibility for professional registration/membership (e.g., BPS, HCPC, or regional equivalent)
- Experience with accreditation or quality assurance processes (e.g., Ofqual, QAA, or similar)
- Research or publication record
- Experience working in a multicultural academic environment
