This position is based at the school’s boys’ campus, offering an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic educator to inspire students, develop their language and literacy skills, and foster a genuine appreciation of English language and literature.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging English lessons aligned with the relevant IB programme and curriculum framework.
- Develop students’ reading comprehension, academic writing, vocabulary, grammar, communication and analytical skills.
- Encourage critical thinking, creativity, independent inquiry and a love of reading.
- Use student-centred and inquiry-based teaching approaches to support meaningful learning.
- Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs and abilities.
- Assess, monitor and report on student progress, providing constructive feedback to support academic development.
- Create a positive, inclusive and well-managed classroom environment that encourages student participation.
- Integrate appropriate learning technologies and resources to enhance teaching and learning.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop curriculum plans, share best practice and support whole-school improvement.
- Maintain high standards of safeguarding, student welfare and professional conduct.
Position Requirements
Bachelor,
3+ Years
work experience Candidate Requirements
- A recognised teaching qualification, such as a
B.Ed. or PGCE, preferably in English or a related subject. - A degree in English or a relevant discipline.
- Experience teaching within an IB school is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with IB teaching principles, inquiry-based learning and international-mindedness.
- Strong subject knowledge and the ability to engage and challenge learners.
- Excellent classroom management, communication and organisational skills.
- A commitment to high academic standards, student wellbeing and continuous professional development.
- A collaborative, flexible and positive approach to working within a multicultural school community.
- Availability to start immediately or at the earliest possible date.
