Position: Senior Planning Engineer - MEP (GECO)

Responsibilities

  • Develop, review and maintain detailed project schedules for MEP works using tools such as Primavera P6 or MS Project.
  • Coordinate with project managers, engineers and site teams to ensure alignment with overall project timelines.
  • Monitor project progress and track milestones, identifying delays and proposing corrective actions.
  • Prepare look‑ahead plans, recovery schedules and resource‑loaded programs.
  • Conduct critical path analysis and highlight risks impacting project delivery.
  • Generate weekly and monthly progress reports, dashboards and presentations for management and clients.
  • Evaluate subcontractor schedules and ensure integration with the master program.
  • Support the tendering team by preparing baseline programs, manpower histograms and method statements.
  • Ensure compliance with contractual requirements related to planning, reporting and extensions of time.
  • Liaise with commercial and cost control teams to align planning with project budgets.
  • Participate in progress meetings and provide planning insights and updates.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
  • 8 to 12 years of experience in planning for MEP projects, preferably in the UAE or GCC.
  • Strong hands‑on experience with Primavera P6 is essential.
  • Good understanding of MEP systems including HVAC, plumbing, firefighting and electrical works.
  • Experience in high‑rise, commercial or large‑scale infrastructure projects is preferred.
  • Solid knowledge of project planning concepts, critical path method and delay analysis.
  • Familiar with FIDIC contracts and EOT claim preparation.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to coordinate with multiple stakeholders.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple project timelines.
