Director of Engineering at InterContinental Mina Al Arab Resort & Spa

Located on Hayat Island,
Inter Continental Ras Al Khaimah Mina Al Arab Resort & Spa is a luxury beachfront resort. We are seeking a Director of Engineering to lead engineering and maintenance operations, ensuring the resort remains safe, efficient, and up to the highest luxury standards.

• Leading all engineering and maintenance operations to ensure the resort is safe, efficient, and maintained to the highest luxury standards.
• Developing and inspiring a high‑performing engineering team through coaching, performance management, and succession planning.
• Driving preventive maintenance programmes to maximise asset reliability and minimise operational disruptions.
• Managing departmental budgets, capital projects, and maintenance expenses while identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and sustainability.
• Overseeing the maintenance of building systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, kitchen and laundry equipment, water treatment, pools, and life safety systems.
• Ensuring compliance with health, safety, fire, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
• Leading renovation and refurbishment projects while working closely with contractors, consultants, and corporate teams to deliver projects on time and within budget.
• Supervising a number of maintenance and engineering staff as well as tradespeople and contractors in a large, luxury, resort setting.
• Supporting operational departments by responding promptly to maintenance needs and ensuring an exceptional guest experience.
• Championing energy conservation and sustainability initiatives across the resort.

• Degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
• Extensive engineering leadership experience within luxury hotels or resorts.
• Strong technical knowledge of electrical, mechanical, HVAC, plumbing, refrigeration, and building management systems.
• Proven experience managing large engineering teams, preventive maintenance programmes, and capital expenditure projects.
• Strong financial acumen with experience preparing and managing departmental budgets.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem‑solving skills.
• Thorough understanding of health, safety, environmental, and statutory compliance.
• Professional engineering certifications or licences are an advantage.
