The Assistant Manager Electrical will report to the Associate Director (Power and Desalination Plant) and will be responsible for the overall electrical operation and maintenance of the 42 MW captive power generation plant, all related auxiliary systems, and the power distribution networks across the plants. The role will also be responsible for the electrical maintenance of the power plant. Duties typically include ensuring an uninterrupted power supply;
overseeing the electrical maintenance of the power distribution network; supervising a team of engineers, supervisors, technicians, and other staff; enforcing plant procedures and policies; conducting performance reviews of maintenance activities; planning resources; and optimizing the plant's electrical systems for cost efficiency and reliability. The incumbent will also be responsible for maintaining a safe Permit-to-Work (PTW) environment and ensuring maximum availability of all equipment.
You Will Be Doing
- Ensure an uninterrupted and continuous power supply to the factory, offices, canteen, accommodation facilities, and other plant areas
- Manage the electrical operation and maintenance of the 42 MW captive power generation plant
- Perform electrical maintenance of natural gas engines, gas turbines, and associated equipment
- Oversee the maintenance of all auxiliary equipment and instrumentation, including compressors, pumps, motors, heat exchangers, boilers, motorized dampers, control circuits, and sensors
- Manage power import from external suppliers and ensure the availability and reliability of all related electrical systems.
- Manage power distribution networks, including substations, RMUs, transformers, and associated equipment. Ensure efficient operation of the distribution network across all consumer locations and demonstrate proficiency in reading electrical control circuits and power distribution drawings
- Monitor and report power generation, import, and consumption to management as required.
- Act as a key stakeholder in cable laying projects for additional power supplies, provide NOCs for excavation activities, and perform electrical calculations related to distribution networks
- Lead a team of engineers, supervisors, operators, and technicians to ensure efficient execution of all electrical maintenance activities while effectively managing maintenance costs.
- Ensure compliance with all statutory and regulatory requirements for power plant operations. Coordinate and support electrical audits in collaboration with the HSE department.
- Plan and implement preventive maintenance programs, oversee planned and breakdown maintenance activities, and minimize equipment downtime
- Maintain optimum inventory levels of electrical spare parts, consumables, and other maintenance materials
- Lead the team to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable plant operations while promoting operational excellence

- 5 to 8 years of experience in managing a power plant
- Should have experience in handling the operations and maintenance of gas engines, gas turbines of similar or higher capacities, and associated power distribution networks
- Hands‑on experience in managing HV/LV power distribution networks, substations, RMUs, transformers, protection systems, and electrical control circuits
