A Mechanical Draftsman is responsible for preparing accurate technical drawings and detailed layouts for mechanical systems based on engineering designs, specifications, and project requirements.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare 2D mechanical drawings, shop drawings, and detailed layouts using AutoCAD.
- Develop drawings for HVAC, piping, equipment, ductwork, and mechanical services as required.
- Prepare GA (General Arrangement), fabrication, installation, and as-built drawings
. - Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and design calculations.
- Coordinate mechanical drawings with architectural, structural, electrical, plumbing, and fire-fighting drawings
. - Prepare sections, elevations, details, and connection drawings
. - Update drawings based on site conditions, engineer/client comments, and revisions.
- Conduct drawing checks to ensure dimensions, levels, materials, and technical details are accurate.
- Assist engineers and site teams with technical drawings and construction requirements.
- Prepare material take-off and quantity details when required.
- Maintain proper drawing numbering, revision control, and documentation.
- Ensure drawings comply with project specifications, relevant codes, and authority requirements
. - Coordinate with site engineers and project teams to resolve drawing-related issues.
- Strong knowledge of AutoCAD and mechanical drafting.
- Understanding of HVAC, piping, mechanical equipment, and MEP coordination
. - Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Knowledge of construction and installation practices.
- Good understanding of MEP coordination and clash resolution
. - Experience with Revit MEP/BIM is an advantage.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in preparing technical drawings.
