Desktop Support Engineer

Responsibilities

• Provide first and second-level technical support to end-users ensuring quick resolution of hardware and software issues.
• Install, configure and maintain desktop systems and peripherals ensuring optimal performance and compliance with company standards.
• Troubleshoot network connectivity issues including VPN setups to maintain user productivity in a remote and on-site environment.
• Conduct regular system updates and patches to protect against security vulnerabilities and enhance system performance.
• Perform routine backups and recovery processes ensuring data integrity and availability for critical business operations.
• Actively participate in IT projects providing input on desktop support best practices and user experience improvements.
• Maintain inventory of hardware and software assets ensuring accurate records for budgeting and compliance purposes.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field is preferred, showcasing a fundamental understanding of IT principles.
• 2-4 years of hands-on experience in a desktop support role, providing practical knowledge of various operating systems and applications.
• Experience in a corporate environment is a plus, as it indicates familiarity with enterprise-level IT challenges and solutions.
• Fluency in English is required; additional languages are an asset, particularly in multinational companies.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities, with a keen analytical mind to diagnose issues efficiently and effectively.
• Strong technical skills in Windows and Mac OS, including command-line utilities and system configuration tools.
