About the Role

The Electronic Government Authority (EGA) is the central body responsible for driving Ras Al Khaimah's Emirate-wide digital transformation, providing unified technology services, governance, and innovation across all RAK government departments. EGA holds Microsoft 365 E5 licensing, providing access to the full Microsoft stack across productivity, collaboration, identity, endpoint management, security, and compliance workloads.

We are hiring a Lead for the Microsoft 365 Platform, EGA's primary technical authority for the full M365 E5 ecosystem across RAK government. This is a hands‑on technical ownership role with significant platform scope. You will own tenant architecture and governance, drive Entra ‑based identity and access management, govern hybrid Active Directory including outstanding security remediation findings, implement and manage MDM through Intune, lead Purview compliance and DLP configuration, and own EGA's Microsoft 365 Copilot readiness and phased adoption strategy.

The role reports to the Head of IT Infrastructure and works in close partnership with Information Security, who own security governance and assessment while this role owns technical implementation and remediation. You will maintain direct engagement with Microsoft account teams and the broader Microsoft community to stay ahead of platform developments.

• Own and govern the Microsoft 365 tenant architecture, ensuring all services are configured securely, consistently, and in line with Microsoft recommended practices, with configuration baselines, reference architectures, and governance guardrails maintained across all workloads.
• Lead Entra  including MFA, Conditional Access, SSO, application registrations, privileged access controls, and administrative access models.
• Manage EGA's hybrid identity environment including on‑premise Active Directory and Entra Connect synchronization, and address outstanding findings from EGA's Active Directory security assessment in a structured and prioritized manner.
• Own EGA's MDM posture through Microsoft Intune, including device compliance policies, configuration profiles, application deployment, and update management across all managed devices.
• Lead Microsoft Purview governance implementation including sensitivity labels, retention policies, DLP controls, audit logging, and eDiscovery readiness, aligned to EGA's data classification framework.
• Configure and maintain Microsoft Defender for Office 365 controls in partnership with Information Security, ensuring anti‑phishing, safe links, and safe attachment protections are operational and continuously tuned.
• Own the architecture, configuration, and governance of Exchange Online, Microsoft Teams, SharePoint Online, and One Drive for Business.
• Lead governance and design for Microsoft 365 Copilot readiness and adoption, including prerequisites, data governance boundaries, security controls, and phased rollout planning.
• Maintain active engagement with Microsoft and the broader M365 community to stay ahead of platform changes, assess roadmap items, and translate them into actionable adoption recommendations for EGA.
• Own Microsoft 365 licensing governance, maintaining accurate entitlement inventory, ensuring correct SKU utilization, and providing technical input for renewal and commercial negotiations.
• Act as the Tier 3 escalation point for Microsoft 365 platform incidents and maintain comprehensive platform documentation including architecture diagrams, configuration baselines, and operational runbooks.

• 8 to 12 years of experience in Microsoft 365 administration and engineering, with progressive growth in technical scope and depth.
• MS-102 (Microsoft 365 Administrator Expert) is the minimum certification expectation; SC-300, SC-400, MD-102, or equivalent are a strong advantage.
• Deep expertise in Microsoft 365 tenant architecture and administration across Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint Online, and One Drive for Business.
• Proven experience with hybrid Active Directory environments including Entra Connect configuration, synchronization management, and identity remediation.
• Hands‑on Intune experience for device compliance and endpoint management in a production environment.
• Experience with Microsoft Purview including sensitivity labels, DLP, retention, and compliance configuration.
• Proficiency in Power Shell for M365 administration automation.
• Understanding of Microsoft licensing models including E3/E5 SKU optimization and EA/CSP commercial structures.
• Experience in a government, regulated, or public sector environment is an advantage; GCC regional experience is a further plus.
• English fluency is essential.
