Engagement Type: Independent Contractor / Consultant

Industry: Hospitality / Resort & Facilities Management

Technology: IBM Maximo Application Suite (MAS) – SaaS

Functional Area: Maintenance, Utilities & Facilities

Estimated Start: Within approximately two (2) weeks of client approval

Duration: Project-based; determined by scope of engagement

Role Summary

We are seeking an experienced Maximo Functional Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support a large-scale Maximo SaaS implementation at a world‑class hospitality and resort destination in the United Arab Emirates. The engagement involves serving as a neutral, trusted advisor between the client's IT organization and its business operations teams to close identified gaps in the current implementation and drive alignment on functional requirements.

This is a hands‑on, relationship‑driven consulting engagement. The selected consultant will be expected to build strong working relationships with business stakeholders, review licensing and configuration options, conduct a comprehensive GAP analysis, and help both parties arrive at a solution that meets business needs within the current platform.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as the functional SME bridge between the IT implementation team and business operations leadership, facilitating clear communication and shared understanding of requirements and solutions.
  • Conduct a thorough GAP analysis of current Maximo SaaS configuration against documented and undocumented business requirements for Maintenance, Utilities, and Facilities.
  • Review current licensing structure and advise on whether existing licensing supports business needs; identify alternative approaches where applicable.
  • Act as a neutral third party to mediate and align the interests of IT and business stakeholders, helping both sides reach consensus on an acceptable path forward.
  • Evaluate business processes specific to hospitality and resort facilities management and recommend appropriate Maximo workflows and configurations.
  • Identify and document areas where business requirements can be met within the existing platform, and where workarounds, configuration changes, or additional modules may be needed.
  • Work directly with a large, diverse group of business stakeholders across facility operations to gather input, validate findings, and communicate recommendations.
  • Support change management activities by helping business leaders understand system capabilities and build confidence in the technology solution.
  • Collaborate with the existing IBM Platinum Partner implementation team to assess technical feasibility of proposed solutions.
  • Deliver clear, structured documentation including findings, recommendations, and a roadmap for gap remediation.
Required Qualifications
Maximo & Technical Expertise
  • Demonstrated hands‑on experience as a Maximo Functional SME, with specific expertise in IBM Maximo Application Suite (MAS) SaaS.
  • Strong understanding of Maximo modules applicable to Maintenance, Utilities, and Facilities Management.
  • Experience performing functional GAP analysis in enterprise asset management (EAM) or similar implementations.
  • Ability to interpret Maximo licensing structures and advise clients on options and optimization.
  • Familiarity working alongside IBM Platinum Partners or within IBM‑led implementations is a plus.
Industry & Domain Experience
  • Background in the hospitality industry – hotel, resort, or integrated entertainment/facilities environment strongly preferred.
  • Understanding of the operational characteristics and maintenance workflows unique to hospitality and resort facilities, which differ significantly from industrial or Oil & Gas environments.
  • Experience engaging directly with operations leadership and frontline teams in a client‑facing consulting capacity.
Consulting & Interpersonal Skills
  • Strong stakeholder facilitation skills; proven ability to navigate and de‑escalate tension between IT and business teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to build trust quickly with diverse groups of business counterparts, including senior and executive leadership.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to translate technical concepts for non‑technical audiences.
  • Self‑directed, with the ability to manage ambiguity and deliver structured outcomes in a dynamic project environment.
Availability
  • Must be available to begin the engagement within approximately two (2) weeks of client approval.

Equal Opportunity & Legal Compliance:
This opportunity is posted in compliance with applicable laws and regulations in both the United States and the United Arab Emirates.
