Social Worker, Child Development​/Support

The Social Worker at our client plays a vital role in promoting the emotional, social and academic well‑being of students. The position involves providing counseling, crisis intervention, family outreach and community liaison services to ensure that every student is supported to reach their full potential in a safe and nurturing environment.

• Student Support and Counseling:
  Provide individual and group counseling to students facing personal, social or academic challenges; identify students at risk and develop intervention plans in collaboration with teachers, parents and administrators; support students in developing coping strategies, social skills and positive behavior.
• Family and Community Engagement:
  Serve as a liaison between school, home and community resources; conduct home visits and communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student progress and concerns; facilitate parent workshops on child development, behavior management and emotional well‑being.
• Collaboration and Consultation:
  Work closely with teachers and staff to promote a positive and inclusive school climate; participate in multidisciplinary meetings (e.g., student support team, behavior intervention committees); provide training and guidance to teachers on social‑emotional learning and classroom management strategies.
• Crisis Intervention:
  Respond promptly to crises involving students or families (e.g., abuse, neglect, mental health issues); provide immediate support and coordinate with relevant authorities or external agencies when necessary; maintain confidentiality and ensure compliance with safeguarding and child protection policies.
• Documentation and Reporting:
  Maintain accurate and confidential case records; prepare reports, assessments and documentation as required by school policy or external agencies; monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of interventions and adjust strategies accordingly.

• Bachelor's or Master’s Degree in Social Work (BSW/MSW) or a related field.
• Certification or license in social work (if applicable by local regulations).
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills; empathy, patience and the ability to build trust with children and families.
• Knowledge of child development, family systems, and community resources.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a multicultural environment.
• Excellent organizational and record‑keeping skills.
• Minimum 2-3 years of experience working in a school or child‑centered environment preferred.
