The Registered Respiratory Therapist role within the UH Portage Medical Center offers a unique chance to become part of a dynamic, collaborative interdisciplinary team. This position adds value to patient care and significantly assists individuals with breathing issues.

We currently offer an opportunity for a full time nights, Registered Respiratory Therapist to support patients in our acute care hospital in Ravenna.

The therapist is learning and incorporating the mission statement and standards of behavior of his/her hospital or care facility. This therapist performs basic competencies within orientation and provides satisfactory respiratory therapy with minimum supervision.

• Mechanical ventilation
• Airway clearance therapy
• Oxygen and humidity therapy

• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Complies with all policies and standards.
• For specific duties and responsibilities, refer to documentation provided by the department during orientation.
• Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients. Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace.

• Associate's Degree in Respiratory (Required) or
• Bachelor's Degree in Respiratory (Required)

• 1+ years Respiratory Therapy (Preferred)

• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) (Required)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) (Required)
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) (Preferred)
• Current RCP Ohio License granted by the Ohio Medical Board (Required)
• American Association for Respiratory Care membership (Preferred)
• NRP Certified (Neonatal facilities) (Required within 6 Months)

At least one year of recent experience is preferred. Position is (3) 12-hour shifts, Mon-Fri, every other weekend, and rotating holidays.
