The Rawlins Police Department is looking for individuals with prior emergency communications experience to work in our Communications Center on a temporary part-time basis. Working an average of not more than 30 hours per week.

We will offer a competitive wage for the qualified candidate.

This position is temporary and will not offer overtime or benefits.

• Provide support to public safety by analyzing and transmitting appropriate information to law enforcement, fire, ambulance, and other personnel.
• Answer 911 and non-emergent lines and dispatch appropriate agency.
• Record calls and activities.
• Maintain records of cases and activities.
• Maintain confidential information.
• Interview callers to determine their needs.
• Operate NCIC/NLETS computer terminal and auxiliary equipment, pagers, computers, and a wide variety of office equipment.
• Provide general assistance to the public in preparing complaints and reports and providing information.
• Respond to emergency and non-emergency situations.

• Prior experience is required.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or evidence of an equivalent achievement.
• U.S. citizen.
• Strong moral character.
• No felony or domestic violence convictions.
